Cleaning EIFS:
AmeriKleen-A Certified MetroClean Dealer
Keeping your house or building clean is vital to curb appeal. Whether you are
trying to draw customers or clients, selling a house or doing spring cleaning
a positive first impression depends on a clean exterior.
EIFS, which rarely needs to be painted, must be cleaned regularly to sustain
its new appearance. Each manufacturer has cleaning instructions which should be
followed to prevent surface damage and color fading.
Various kinds of stains and discoloration can get on the surface. Each have their
own characteristics and cleaning processes.
Mildew
For mildew removal, use the EIFS manufacturers recommendations or have the house
professionally cleaned.
WARNING:Many firms use high pressure (3500psi+) to remove stains and mildew.
I wish I could show you the damage done to various surfaces including brick and concrete
by pressure washers. Mortar joints, caulking, masonary sufaces, paint and wood decks
can all be ruined by overzealous individuals with a pressure washer. High Pressure
has its applications, but only when used carefully with damage prevention in mind.
There is another option for cleaning EIFS. AmeriKleen. Low-Pressure cleaning acomplishes the same results without
the danger of damaging the surface. AmeriKleen is a Certified MetroClean Dealer.
